/Military bike, a model from 1942, the same year as I was born, i.e. in midst war. My father was drafted to a military bike-brigade on the island Öland. Armed with Mauser-rifles their task was to stop an eventual invasion. (Check the links further down)

One particular story, the bike with the gun, is very special. I was born in 1943
For me it´s very special too since it was on a similiar bike with a rifle like that that my father and his military mates were supposed to defend Sweden from an invasion. One can easily guess the outcome for him if an invasion had taken place. Perhaps one has to be in our age, Edward, to understand how different life was back then. 🙂
Very special and beautiful image.
Reblogga detta på The Big Bike Boom.
A war-bike becomes a romantic image. Power of the snow and of your art! (I was born in 1957) 😉
We are still in February and people think that spring is coming, but March might surprise with more snow.I don´t mind. 🙂
Yes, I remember 8 years ago a snow storm at the end of March! 😉
